Haitian Vetiver Oil is the naturally occurring essential oil from the roots of the Vetiver
plant. The raw material used for distillation is produced in Haiti by our sister
company Jacosa, where the Vetiver raw material is brought to the distillation
facility in small quantities, often with the use of donkeys. No additives,
solvents or chemicals are used at any point of the recovery process. The oil is
recovered through the physical separation process of partial steam
distillation.
Typically, Vetiver Oil is highly viscous; however, essential oils are extracted from
living plants that do not follow an exact chemical formula or an exact growing
pattern. Therefore, each batch of the same oil can vary. Vetiver has an aroma
that is resinous and deep with smokey undertones and earthy, root-like notes
with a tinge of sweetness. It has excellent fixative properties, which is why it
is often used in fine fragrance formulations.
Haitian Vetiver Essential Oil is used in a variety of ways. It is most commonly used in soaps, lotions, and perfumery.
