CO₂ Extraction
Bench-Scale CO₂ Extraction
A compact supercritical CO₂ system for sample discovery, method development, and small evaluation batches.

What the Benchtop System Is For
Test a new botanical, compare conditions or make samples for a customer before you commit to production. What you learn on the bench can be repeated, and transferred to our pilot-scale systems.
Primary Uses
Sample discovery
Find out what a botanical gives you with CO₂ before scaling up.
Method development
Work out the pressures, temperatures and flows that target the compounds you want.
Small evaluation batches
Make extract for customer samples, panels and stability tests.
Equipment and Control
Pressure, temperature and flow
Built for precise control of all three, so a set of conditions can be repeated and scaled.
Touchscreen operation
Runs from a touchscreen and fits on a laboratory bench.
Open collection bay
Extract is collected in an open bay at the front of the system.
Method Development
Bring us a botanical and a goal. We develop the method on our benchtop and pilot systems.
-
Define the goal
Tell us the botanical and what you want from it: target compounds, an odor profile, a yield.
-
Run bench trials
We run your material on our systems and test the extract.
-
Tune the conditions
We adjust the conditions below until the extract meets the goal.
-
Document and transfer the method
You receive a documented method, ready to repeat at pilot scale.
What Can Be Tuned
Density
CO₂ density shifts with pressure and temperature; each density favors different compounds.
Fractionation
Separators let us split light, middle and heavy fractions in one run.
In-line dewaxing
Waxes are removed in the same run, with CO₂ as the only solvent.
Gradients
Changing conditions during a run handles heavy compounds and evens out separation.
